Picture a world where people lost the capacity to produce contemporary medicine and other ailments treatments. A world where people are unable to access antibiotics, vaccines, and other must-have drugs used in the treatment of diseases and conditions. In such a situation, the people have to go back to basic ways of treating illnesses and diseases and the use of herbs was of immense importance to our survival.

However, can we rely on herbs alone to cater for all our health needs and treat our illnesses without a second thought?Herbal medicine has been practiced for several centuries by people of different societies and cultures in the management of numerous diseases and health conditions.

Herbs including aloe, ginger, garlic, and ginseng cure diseases whose effects are known and are used to ease symptoms and encourage healing. They would become more precious, as sources of cure in a world where advanced technologies and medications do not exist.

On this account, herbal medicine has several benefits, with one of them being that it is natural and takes a holistic view of human health. As compared to synthetic medications, herbs are much safer and can cause fewer side effects to the body. A single herb can also have many applications and tackle multiple complaints simultaneously. To illustrate, ginger is effective in managing nausea, inflammation, and GI issues.

Nevertheless, as good as the usage of herbal medicine may be, it is true that in a world without modern medicine, it may be impossible to depend on the herb alone and get 100% effectiveness.

The effectiveness of herbs is useful for managing many conditions but may be less effective of similar to specific modern medications in managing more severe or chronic conditions. For instance, antibiotics used in the treatment of bacterial infections and control of disease transmission; few herbs could be regarded as efficient substitutes.

In addition, scientific and systematic processes such as recognition and formulation of herbal medicines are not so advanced as modern medicine. Their concentration and concentrations can be significantly different in various species and therefore, it is almost impossible to achieve standardization of dosages for healing.

It seems easy to state that herbs can do this and that in a world where there are no modern technologies to confirm the safety and effectiveness of herbs around the world.

Moreover, there are some health improvement measures that cannot be developed using the natural products-herbs only. For instance, vaccines have played a great role in the elimination of diseases such as smallpox, and polio among others. The course and progress of attempts at disease prevention and controlling would have been extraordinarily difficult at best without modern immunizations.

All in all, herbs indeed play a significant role in natural cures and it is even possible to treat many diseases with the help of such remedies, however, if there were no modern medicine at all we would hardly be able to live solely with the help of these herbs.

Antibiotics, vaccines and other necessary medicines would be almost impossible to come by meaning that the society would be prone to numerous diseases. Although there are numerous benefits in using modern medicine as highlighted above, we cannot underestimate the benefits of herbal medicine and therefore it is possible that in the future there will be a need to do more research on both modern and herbal medicine to gain more knowledge and support the future health care system.

Very nice. The processes differ, their sources and time spent. While modern medicine now seems relatively easy, it is thanks to herbs. Yet, no herb can work so effectively at this point in time

Modern medicine and herbs are both effective. It depends on the one you believe to help you. However, they are some ailments that modern medicine is faster to address anyways

The fear most people have about herbs is the dosage to take yet it is effective. Truth is modern medicine came to be because of the herbs. The edge modern medicine has over herbs is that it gives diagnosis of the ailment while herbal medicine most times assumes the ailment based on the symptoms seen, hence it might make a wrong diagnosis.
