(From the Bride: Even after a civil wedding, many couples choose to get married in the church because of the deeper spiritual and cultural significance it holds. For those with strong religious beliefs, a church wedding is seen not just as a ceremony, but as a sacred covenant made before God, offering a spiritual blessing that a civil union may not provide.
It can also fulfill family expectations and cultural traditions, giving a sense of completeness or legitimacy in the eyes of loved ones. Before the church wedding, some may feel it's just a formality, while others experience excitement, nervousness, or pressure due to religious or familial expectations. Afterward, many couples describe feeling a renewed sense of unity, peace, and emotional fulfillment—often more powerful than anticipated—especially when the ceremony aligns with their faith and values.)

Slowly walking the aisle, teary-eyed looking at your husband next to God. Mixed feelings for sure, wailing inside but not from the pain; From happiness that at last getting married with the blessing of God above. As a Catholic, a wedding is not just a ceremony like a civil wedding. It's sacred that we'd feel we have the approval of God. And according to the bible, you will not be free from the sin of getting together if you don't have a church wedding.
The siblings of yours didn't notice how their eyes became wet. They had no idea that they were crying inside seeing their younger sister was now facing and having a blessing from God. They were so happy for you.
Even living together after the civil wedding, you are now feeling refreshed and renewed. Also, yes, you said that a complete feeling sure is what you felt after the wedding. It's hard to explain but a feeling of peace is what you've been feeling now.
