Assalamu Alaikum. How are you all? I hope you are very well. You will be happy to hear that I visited our National Museum of Bangladesh a few days ago. While there, I got acquainted with thousands of objects that carry history, tradition and culture. Among these, the things that I liked the most were the male and female sporophylls of different plants. In fact, I have been familiar with these for a long time. I have studied botany, so I am already very familiar with these plants. That is why I liked it very much after seeing these parts of these plants again. That is why I am sharing this post with you to introduce this different plants.
The thing you see in the two pictures above is the female cone of Cycas. Thycus is a unisexual plant. The female cone grows at the top of the Cycas tree. And it looks very large. This female cone grows almost all over the top. Cycas trees are very beautiful and are planted as ornamental trees. I like you very much.
It also has male cones which grow on male trees. The female cones of made into female cones and the male cones are made into male cones.
The male cycads are slightly cone-shaped and much longer than the female cycads. Since cycads are gymnosperms, they do not have a uterus. The female cycads produce fruitless seeds through subsequent pollination, which are located below the cycad. The life cycle of cycad plants and the process of producing fruit seeds is very sequential.
The long fruits you see this time are the seeds of the Gilalta. The Gila vine is an evergreen plant and is a climber in nature. The seeds of this fruit have many uses. The Gila vine and its seeds have many medicinal properties. They are used to heal fever wounds and relieve anthrax and toothache.
