Greetings everyone
Happy new week, how are you doing today? I hope you are good and you had a nice weekend.
I am very happy to share a blog with you guys today which is all about the upholstery of a spider old car seat to new. It has been a while i have not posted here this is because my blogging phone get spoiled and i have fixed it now. In today post, i will share some steps by steps how i replace a old car seat leather with new one. Going through this post you will be able to learn from me and have a knowledge on how the process is being carryout.
Upholstery of car seat is something very simple anyone can do on its own and with this post you will see it simple.
This seat was brought to my shop since last year, But was not ready to work it because of lack of funds according to him.He actually had accident with the car and the engine was damage but ge has bought everything to fix the car and he also settle me, and here is the outcome of the site.
How do you see the outcome of the site hope this is beautiful.
Let breakdown the steps
To get started, firstly I lose the side cover of the seat with the help of star screwdriver and sucket spanner, after loosing it, I then unclip the main seat from the back seat desperately just to have access to all the hidden part of the seat. See photo below.
I then use a measuring tape to measure all the pattern of the seat and then write it down for easy access.
I then transfer the measurements to the new leather a mark it one after the others.
After marking it out, i then use scissors to cut it out follow the line i draw.
I then place the cut new leather on its possition, i then trace the share to have the new working pattern.
To make the leather thick and smooth, i then place it on a roof material, gum it together.
I then cut it out for sewing process
With the help of my sewing machine I careful sew the pattern together using the old seat to check how the design look like so that the finally result with look just like the old one.
After sewing it, i then clip the new seat cover to the foam careful making sure everything is straight.
After covering the seat, i the tight the seat back has before and here is the outcome of it.
The two seat took mw one full day to complete it and the work is really not simple and very stressful
Hope you love the outcome of the work. Thanks so much for stopping by i really appreciate. Your support is need thanks
