DIY: how to measure, cut and sew a new car seat cover.

Greetings great people of #hivediy how are you all doing today? I hope you all are doing pretty good this new week. I am so excited to share a post here with you guys after a long time this is because i travel for work where the was no internet network and i really miss you guys but i am back for now to town. Today i want to share with you guys my recent project on how i sew a old Hilux seat to new.

Sewing of car seat is something i do everyday and i had this beautiful project and i think is nice to share with you guys to learn and also have more experience.

One thing i love about reupholstery of car seat is that is simply because you had already make design to follow up, is just copy work and i promise you if you follow me up you should be able to attempt it by your self, and always feel free to use the comments box.

Let look at some steps involved in reupholstery a car seat

Firstly, loose the car seat out of the car to a workshop that you love to get the work done.

After loosing it to the shop, you then loose the back seat separate from the main seat for easy access to all the hidden part of the seat for easy access.

Then measure out each pattern of the old seat and the pen it down with the help of sewing tape and chalk.

After then, you go to market to purchase a new leather that match with the old one or you can choose to change the color if you wish.

Then transfer the measurements to the new leather, Mark it out and then cut it for the next level.

To get the new pattern of the seat, the are two methods to use, first by loosing the old pattern place on top of the new leather and then trace it out or place the new cut leather on the seat and then trace out the shape with the help of chalk.

To get the pattern ready, place it in a roof fabric or foam, gum it together and then cut it out, this is to make the finish work smooth, think and adorable.

After getting the pattern read, then use a sewing machine to join each of the pattern together using the old seat has reference point. In completion of the sewing, you have successfully sew a new seat cover.

The next steps is to cover it, when loosing the old seat, you will see some clips inside, you just follow the same steps by removing the clips inside the old seat cover and the clip the new seat cover.

After successful clipping of the seat, the seat is almost ready, you then tight the seat back has it was loose and here is finish work.

I first start with the back seat and i will share again the completion if the project.
