Planting trees during Typhoon: SOHS visits Puray Rodriguez, Rizal

Yo! It's Mooon again, and I'm here to share another story with y'all.

We conducted our tree planting, and it was held on Puray Rodriguez, Rizal, last October 19, 2025 (Sunday)

There was a typhoon during this event, and we didn't anticipate it, but volunteers are still eager to make it happen.

We started the event with a warm welcome and thanked all participants for attending the event, though it was really an awful day.

I was the MC, so I motivated them with simple words and energized them with some silly jokes.

During this event, 42 volunteers joined forces with Menro and several locals from Puray. They assisted us in digging holes, and we are preparing to plant 150 seedlings, which include Narra, Guyabano, and Lanete trees.

We start by gathering all the seedlings and placing them together so we can easily take them to the planting area. This way, our fellow volunteers can focus on the fun part—planting!

Transporting seedlings was quite manageable as the location is right next to the highway, eliminating the need for any hiking or trekking. The entire route is fully paved, so even in the rain, we encountered no issues, allowing the planting to proceed smoothly and steadily, in contrast to our previous experience.

Volunteers in action

These captivating moments are captured through photographs that showcase dedicated volunteers in action, illustrating their hard work and commitment to making a difference in the community. These snapshots reflect their enthusiasm and the positive impact they're having as they engage in various activities. Enjoy these glimpses into their efforts!

Participating in this tree planting event opened my eyes to the many individuals ready to dedicate their time, even when faced with a typhoon. All they had were shirts, gloves, and a raincoat as their gear. I’m truly thankful to have seen such genuine acts of heroism. I couldn’t be prouder of them—kudos!

I'll end my blog with this quotation.

“He that plants trees, loves others besides himself.” — Thomas Fuller

Thanks for dropping by, and keep safe, everyone :)

Mooon out! 🤙
