Dangerous Roads

Today is such an interesting day for me. The day I just woke up and decided to take risks. One of the craziest things I've ever done in my life was to use my phone while walking on the road where people are hardly seen walking with their phones because of the terrible things that happens on the road. It is not a healthy practice to operate on phones while walking on a busy road but I did that intentionally in order to gather useful informations which can help in proper documentation of changes that has taken place in the city. Why I considered it a risky act wasn't because I was looking at my phone screen but the reason why I considered it risky was because the same location where I was using my phone is also the same place where more than ten thousand people have lost their phones unprepared to armed robbers and phone snatchers. In fact, Every 10 minutes people complain of a stolen phone in the area.

The only thing that encouraged me to not be afraid was my faith in God, also added to the fact that was I was doing was for good. While walking on the road with my phone, I made sure I tightly hold my phone at least to not lose my phone in over crowded places and while I walk along less busy road I make sure to cover my phone as well as I can with my hands so it won't be easily noticed by anyone.
Sometimes even the police are afraid of those who go about taking pictures but it didn't stop me from taking pictures of different places that I wanted to. I only made sure that passersby do not notice much of the phone in my hand not to talk of the fact that I was taking pictures of new structures and different buildings in that location with no bad intentions.

After I had taken enough photos, my brother told me to put my phone securely in my pocket but I told him about the experience I once had and it happened in a congested area.
The night I was carrying heavy bag of rice loaded of different kinds of foodstuffs and was walking along the road about to get to the park where I'll enter a vehicle. I had securedly put my phone inside the pocket of the red trouser I was wearing and my two hands was what I was using to hold the foodstuffs I was carrying on my head in position.
Just as I was about asking the driver of the first vehicle I saw where he is headed to, I felt the weight in my pocket lessen instantly, that was all I felt.
Immediately I removed one hand from the heavy bag I was carrying and touched my pocket and I couldn't feel my phone anymore. That was actually my first experience and ever since that time, the trauma of what happened has never left me.

Nowadays I prefer holding my phone in my hand no matter where I am headed to, also I want to buy a simple single handed bag which I can wear across my chest as I see many people doing the same thing nowadays. As the level of hardship in the country increases, many more people are choosing the wrong way to survive which of course entails making others cry while themselves are happy and celebrate their loot.
Though it's up to one year now I've had the experience of a pick pocket but I still clearly remember that before I embarked on that journey to acquire the foodstuff, deep inside me I was feeling the strong urge to leave my phone at home and just go and come back.
We'll I struggled with the thought in my heart but later decided to go with my phone knowing fully well that I've been going and coming back without any bad experience.

One thing I've learned with that experience of phone loss then is to always follow my mind and not to doubt whatever my mind tells me and it's been really helpful because since I started following my heart, I noticed that my heart never lies to me because I see the evidence of things it tells me. Though not only on the issue of phone and each time my heart is confident in doing something and succeeding, I always go and be successful. It's always good to have a strong positive and confident mindset but in most cases the mind tells us things that appear to be negative, it's either left for us to regret it and be cautious.
