Surviving the Noxious Fumes, Aimless, and Briar Patch Rules

When the Noxious Fumes rule is in play, one of my favorite abilities is Triage because it will increase the chances of my monsters surviving the battle.

See the Battle

In this battle, I tried to make the most of the Triage ability and used 2 monsters that have it. I will explain in detail what my strategy was for the battle.

In the battle, there are 3 rules: Noxious Fumes, Aimless, and Briar Patch.

In the Noxious Fumes rule, all monsters start out poisoned, which means they will receive 2 damage at the beginning of each round (the poison will only start to act at the beginning of the second round).

In the Aimless rule, all monsters will receive the Scattershot ability, which means they will randomly attack enemy monsters.

In the Briar Patch rule, all monsters will receive the Thorns ability, which means they will deal 2 physical damage to the monster that attacks them with a melee attack.

These are rules that are a bit annoying to have in battle, especially Noxious Fumes and Briar Patch, so the strategy I used was:

  • Kelya Frendul was the summoner I chose, she will increase the speed and armor of my monsters by +1, so she will be very useful in increasing the chances of my monsters attacking first, increasing the chances of them dodging attacks, and the armor will be useful against melee and ranged attacks.

  • Djinn Ohsannus is my monster defending in the first position, he is a great choice for this battle because he will not be affected by the Briar Patch rule, since his attack type is magical and he has a lot of life, so he will not be easily defeated by the Noxious Fumes rule or by enemy monsters.

  • Tide Biter is my monster in second position, it has the ability Reach so it can attack in this position even though it is a monster with melee attack and it also has the ability Reflection Shield which makes it immune to the ability Thorns so the Briar Patch rule will not affect it.

  • Spirit Hoarder is my monster in third position and although it has little health, it will be useful with the ability Triage healing my backline monsters and will also increase by +15% the chances of enemy monsters missing their attack because of its ability Blind.

  • Igor Darkspear is my monster in fourth position and will be useful applying Stunned to enemy monsters with its ability Stun. Monsters with Stunned are unable to attack or use any ability for 1 round.

  • Angelic Mandarin is my monster in fifth position and its function will also be to heal my backline monsters with its ability Triage.

  • Torrent Fiend is my sixth position monster and he won't be able to attack because he's a melee monster, so his role is just to be a punching bag in this battle.

With this strategy I have a better chance of surviving these 3 rules and after only 3 rounds I can come out victorious, so choosing this strategy was the right decision but I have to admit that it wasn't an easy battle.
