Increasing my Card Collection by Opening Packs in Splinterlands

Today is the day to increase my Chaos Legion card collection in Splinterlands. As I mentioned in other posts, I recently decided to build a card collection in Splinterlands and the Chaos Legion edition was the one I chose because it is the cheapest currently and because the cards in this edition are very useful and powerful, so I will have no problem playing in the higher leagues with them.

To increase my Chaos Legion card collection I have 2 options:

• Buy cards from other players in the Splinterlands market.

• Buy Chaos Legion packs and open them in Splinterlands.

The most efficient option is to buy cards from other players in the game market because I will not depend on luck and I can make more accurate calculations of how much I will need to spend to get all my cards to the maximum level. But I like opening packs because it is fun and there is always the possibility of me getting lucky and getting a very valuable card.

Today I will choose the option of buying Chaos Legion packs and opening them in Splinterlands.

To start, I went to Hive Engine and bought 5 Chaos Legion packs for the price of 0.899 Swap.Hive each. In total, I spent 4.49 Swap.Hive buying the 5 packs, which is the equivalent of $.190 considering the current price of Hive.

After buying the packs, I just need to transfer them to my Splinterlands account and open them. It's a very simple and quick process.

After having the Chaos Legion packs in my account, I just need to open them and see which cards I received.

Each Chaos Legion pack contains 5 cards, with at least 1 of Rare rarity or higher.

An important detail before opening the packs is to always have Alchemy potions and Legendary potions in your account. Each card consumes 1 potion of each, so to open 5 packs I will need 25 Alchemy potions and 25 Legendary potions.

• The Alchemy potion will increase my chances of getting Gold Foil cards in the packs.

• The Legendary potion will increase my chances of getting Legendary cards in the packs.

When all the preparations are ready, I just need to open the packs and see the result, now let's see if today is my lucky day or not.

I got 2 epic cards and 1 rare Gold Foil card, so the result was not bad, but I expected to get at least 1 legendary or more Gold Foil cards.

Luckily, I got several useful cards that I wanted in my collection, but unfortunately the total value of the cards I got in these 5 packs is lower than the value I paid for the packs, so I ended up at a loss, and if I had chosen to buy the cards on the market, then I would have gotten more cards with the amount I spent.

I paid $1.90 for the 5 Chaos Legion packs, so my loss was $0.62.

Even though I ended up losing money, it was fun opening the packs and I like to do this sometimes to test my luck and also to satisfy my desire to open packs. I usually open packs once or twice a week and I intend to do this until my Chaos Legion card collection is completely at maximum level.
