Explaining How to Buy and Open Packs in Splinterlands

Today I'll show you how to buy and open packs in Splinterlands. Join me on this brief journey of learning.

Splinterlands is a blockchain-based collectible card game. Collect digital assets, battle thousands of other players, and win crypto and other rewards!

To buy Splinterlands packs, you have three options: Buy in Splinterlands, in the Hive Engine, or at Peakmonsters.

Let's start with the option to buy in Splinterlands.

Splinterlands

After logging into your Splinterlands account, go to the top left corner of the screen, click SHOP, and then click Cards Pack.

On this page, you'll find all the Splinterlands packs available for sale.

Currently, Splinterlands has 13 pack types for you to purchase:

  • Conclave Arcana Packs (Starter, Standard, Alchemy, and Legendary).
  • Rebellion Pack.
  • Foundations Pack.
  • Chaos Legion Pack.
  • Riftwatchers Pack.
  • Untamed Pack.
  • Azmare Dice Pack.
  • Beta Pack.
  • Essence Orbs Pack.
  • Alpha Pack.

Each pack gives the player 5 cards, with at least 1 of rare or higher rarity.

In Splinterlands, you can choose to buy packs with DEC or Credits.

Now let's move on to the option of buying packs on the Hive Engine.

Hive Engine

On the Hive Engine, you can buy almost every type of pack in Splinterlands, but you can only buy them with Swap.Hive. The price of packs on the Hive Engine varies greatly depending on the pack, and there's the advantage of placing a buy order for a lower price and waiting for someone to sell it to you for that price.

The Splinterlands packs in the Hive Engine are found by "codes" and they are:

  • ARCANA = Conclave Arcana Standard Pack.
  • ARCANAL = Conclave Arcana Legendary Pack.
  • ARCANAA = Conclave Arcana Alchemy Pack.
  • REBELLION = Rebellion Pack.
  • CHAOS = Chaos Legion Pack.
  • RIFT = Riftwatchers Pack.
  • UNTAMED = Untamed Pack.
  • SLDICE = Azmare Dice Pack.
  • BETA = Beta Pack.
  • ORB = Essence Orbs Pack.
  • ALPHA = Alpha Pack.

Looking at the prices of the packs in the Hive Engine, there are some that are cheaper than in Splinterlands, and there are also some that are not currently for sale in the Hive Engine, but you can place purchase orders for these packs.

Now let's move on to the option to purchase packs at Peakmonsters.

Peakmonsters

In Peakmonsters, you'll also find the same packs as in Splinterlands, and for the same price as in Splinterlands. The only difference is that purchases of $10 or more will receive PKM tokens.

After logging into Peakmonsters, go to Buy Cards and then Buy Assets.

In this option, I chose 1 Alpha Pack, which costs $37, so I'll receive 2.25 PKM tokens for the purchase.

How to Open the Packs?

To open the packs, you'll need to have them in your Splinterlands account. So, if you purchased the packs in Splinterlands or Peakmonsters, you'll just need to go to the OPEN option in Splinterlands and open them.

Choose the pack you want to open and drag it to the Vortex in the middle of the screen, or click Open Multiple to open multiple packs at once.

If you purchased the packs from Hive Engine or have packs from Hive Engine, then choose the Transfer option for the pack you have in Hive Engine.

I have one Chaos Legion pack in Hive Engine, so I'll transfer it to my Splinterlands account by choosing the From Hive Engine to In Game option.

After opening the pack, you'll see a quick animation and see the cards you received.

I opened my Chaos Legion, and these were the cards I received. Unfortunately, I was unlucky enough not to get any Legendary or Gold Foil cards.

Opening packs can be profitable or a loss, so keep in mind that it depends on luck.

To conclude this post, I'll talk a little about the Arcade Colony platform.

For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".

Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.

There are currently four games on Arcade Colony: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.

If you're interested in learning more about Arcade Colony, I recommend the platform's whitepaper or my post: Discover the Arcade Colony Platform.
