A New Reward Set Coming to Splinterlands and My Favorite Card from the Current Reward Set

Splinterlands recently posted announcing a new Reward Set and some great changes to how reward cards will be unlocked and traded.

With these changes, I can see a new sparkle in Splinterlands, and my desire to return to the battlefield grows stronger.

To further fuel my desire to play Splinterlands, they also announced Halloween Skins, and since this is my favorite time of year, I can only say, amazing.

With the arrival of a new Reward Set, you won't be able to get any more cards from the current Reward Set, but don't worry, there's still time to get these cards because the new Reward Set won't be available until October 21st (This isn't an official date, just an estimate from the Splinterlands team).

Since we're talking about Reward Cards, I'll talk about my favorite card from the current Set: Commander Slade.

You've probably seen this card in battle because it's very common.

The reason Commander Slade is my favorite card in the current Reward Set is because he's incredibly powerful, a great defensive card, a great offensive card, and also has a great chance to dodge attacks.

Commander Slade's stats already show how incredible he is, and when you learn about his abilities, he's the kind of card you'll want in your collection.

Commander Slade's abilities are: Enfeeble, Dodge, Deflect, and Backfire.

Now, learn how each of these abilities works in Splinterlands.

Enfeeble

With the Enfeeble ability, Commander Slade will decrease the melee attack of the monster he successfully attacks by -1.

Dodge

With the Dodge ability, Commander Slade will have a +25% chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks.

Deflect

With the Deflect ability, Commander Slade will take 0 damage from the following abilities: Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire, and Blast Splash Damage.

Backfire

With the Backfire ability, Commander Slade will deal 2 physical damage to any monster that attacks him and misses.

Talking about Commander Slade always brings me joy because I remember the great moments I had with him on the battlefield, and at the same time, a bit of anger from the times I fought him.

With the combination of the Dodge and Backfire abilities, coupled with Commander Slade's high attack speed, he becomes a machine for dealing damage and dodging attacks. I say this without considering his high melee attack.

Unfortunately, I don't have much time to get more Commander Slade cards, so I won't be able to level him up to max level. In fact, I'm still far from max level, but I'll find ways to buy cards from him in the future to reach max level.

With the launch of the new Reward Set, my focus will be on evolving all the cards to the maximum level. Since I'll be getting cards from the start of the launch, I probably won't have any trouble achieving this goal.
