The long awaited Sorghum Plants are now ready for harvest. After all the hurdles of bad weather we are finally going to have something to harvest from the farm.
At the time when this Sorghum stated producing it's food, that was when the rains ceased and it looked almost hopeless. We were all praying for some heavy downpour at least once or twice to encourage the sorghum's growth but all of that wasn't forth coming.

Left to fate and the fact that Sorghum is better adapted to harsh weather than other plants it was able to produce some food for us now. The stems of Sorghum plants are usually very thick and they are deep rooted, making it a good strategy for better adaptation to harsh weather. With that the sorghum's were able to survive and look what we have here

It is the white specie of Sorghum and the seeds are well matured now awaiting harvest. Yesterday after rice harvest we decided to check on the Sorghum to see how they are fairing. Occasionally we often check on the Farms to prevent wildfires from engulfing our crops until we are ready to harvest them. I'm so happy seeing this development.

Soon After rice harvest, we will be coming for this.
The work was so hectic yesterday that I could barely stand up to go for church service today. It is this evening that I'm now able to drag myself out of bed to take a shower, some food and analgesic. Hopefully we will be through with all the harvest by month end so that we can get some quality rest before a next session farming.
