It's gonna be sorghum Harvest this week and I can't be any less excited.
There is this local drink we often prepare from our Sorghum or mille. It is a very healthy and nutritious drink that the local community here loves including myself. Just a cup of the chilled drink can make me have a sleep peacefully.

The growth and productivity of sorghum seams to outperform all our other crops this year. Although it was one of the crops we were worried about as the rains ceased when it was producing it's food but look what we have got here.

Both the red specie and the white specie of Sorghum did well and the harvest work will begin by tomorrow or next. We have harvested about 8 bags of rice already and decided to cut off these come fetch these home as well

Some herders have been en route around this place already and before they can cause any harm to our ripe harvest we have decided to hasten up work. Since a good amount of our rice is now safely at home we want to attend to these as well.

Harvesting is almost thesame prosecute with rice. We will be using knives or sickle. I haven't engaged much with them to harvest Sorghum so I wouldn't tell about which work will be easier and faster, but daddy had been engaging in this work for years and will often tell us that he prefers working in the rice field than this.

The Sorghum plants be tall and high up in the sky, you have to bend or cut down the plant before you can harvest the grains. This is the most difficult part of the task but I'm sure that there are sophisticated machines that would have done this work much easier.
