There is always a possibility that even after our sorghum is able to produce some pallets on them it will still be difficult for it to produce some food when the weather situation is not friendly. We have to constantly check and keep an eye on its growth process to find out if we can come in at any point to support the production of foods and grains.

In other circumstances it can equally end up producing very bad grains that will be black in color and not good at all.

Another reason why we also check on each of our farms consistently in this season is to try and stay close to the farm to keep away animal encroachment. Dry seasons is usually the time for animal grazing across long distances. Since there are not much grasses for the animals to graze upon in their various locations, their owners often journey with them in search of food across distant places.

While this happens they end up invading farms go feed their livestock with the food we have grown. Normally they are meant to hold on for us to complete all of our harvest before they can bring their beasts go feed on byproducts our crops, like the husks straw and every other crops residue.

On several occasions they have damaged series of our hard laboured grown crops. During this time it is often a struggle for us as we move from one farm to another harvesting our crops in a hurry. And timely and consistent check on the crops keeps animal rearers informed of our presence in farm for them to at least respect our crops and stay away.

After a careful observation of our grains, I feel satisfied that there will something for us to harvest from this portion of the farm at least. The Sorghum are all getting ripe now and harvest can be scheduled for the month of December but for now we are still working in rice farms. Hopefully we would be able to pick up all our grains before any human or animal invasion.
