Hello Hive

It is the season for planting beans and we are not left out of the it.
Is it not a good thing for us to balance the type of crops we grow. While growing starchy foods we equally balance this with some protenius grains and vegetables. It's good to eat balance diet and it's good to see that we plant almost everything we eat. Talking about corn, rice, beans tuber and others.

The season for planting beans is here. The month of July is the best time to plant beans. I am sure that you will understand why I am just planting my own beans now.

The work load for on us at this time of the year is often much. We are in a race to plant almost everything. Moving from one farm location to another and while planting some farm will require immediate weeding after planting and that's how the circle of work goes on and on.

It is my dad who has been the one cultivating these land for planting our family crops, not many people are interested in farming in this location where we live hence it is difficult to get a agile youth labourers who will cultivate the land for us. Daddy is a way above 60 years of age but he has keep his strength in assisting us in the farm. He is the one doing the hard labour or tilling the ground, applying pesticide on the farm. Like he is doing for our rice farm here.

Having cultivated the land, myself and siblings are the ones who often does the planting before we all join hands together to do the weeding, application of herbicides and the rest. The women can't definitely til the ground, I have never tried cultivating the soil before knowing how hards of a labour this can be.

Our planted beans have sprouted well even though we are yet to plant the entire farm location where we wish to do so, the land is not yet totally cultivated. We are still working inside our rice farm and by the coming week we would resume to continue with this particular work.

Your soil looks very similar to mine. We also have shortage of workers. To help myself with the weeding I use mulch on top of the soil. Either dried leaves, straw, or woodchips. The mulch keeps moisture in the soil and also slows the weeds growing. Even makes the weeds that do grow easier to pull. As I have fairly weak hands this helps a lot. Your seedlings look so healthy! I wish you great harvest in fall!

Oh wow, that's good to know. I'm happy to learn about the new way to prevent weeds from growing. Thank you so much for the weeding
