Hello Hive

Its a beautiful and brand new day and am happy to be hale and hearty even after having a sleepless night sewing. I have alot of pending orders for the coming week. About 5-7 order of wears to be sewn before the the next weekend. I want to see how I can pull through all these schedules.

Just this morning after stepping out to pick some vegetables I noticed this green sight calling my attention and upon close look I realized that my fluted pumpkins are alive and thriving.

These have been long dead since last year dry season. Only the old stump was left in the sac sand where I had planted the fluted pumpkins. I was so surprised to see that a new life emerged from the old stump here, The veggies are quite fresh indicating that the soil is still fertile. I often dump a lot of food waist from my kitchen on this soil and it is not surprising to see that the soil has remained fertile ever since.

These variety of fluted pumpkins is one I have learnt that it is a biannual crop, a crop that can continue its lifestyle for at least two years. While I was hoping that these very one will last for that length of time, the cessation of rain caused it to dry up.

Apparently the old stump remained viable all through the dry season and has now come alive to continue growing and giving me new set of fresh veggie.

I decided to clear out the grasses around it and give it more space to grow.

Been a climber crop I equally got a rope it tied to the the fluted pumpkins and then attached the rope to my bitter leaves tree.

The fluted pumpkins now have enough space to continue growing upwards. Hopefully it will grow to give me some seeds for replanting this variety before this old stump eventually dies off.
