Making A lovely easter dress π π π for my friend from Some incredible Recycle Project
Hello Hive
Happy Easter to my beloved family here. Hope we had a wonderful Easter celebration, I'm so sorry that I didn't make it here yesterday to share with you my friends the delicious Easter meals and chicken I ate yesterday π€£ππ€£π. I was really busy with several activities that I also didn't make any Easter meals myself but I went visiting to my sister's house and she served me some fried rice and chicken π.
Hope you all had a wonderful celebration too. May we enjoy more of it in good health and sound mind and body.
Today I'm fascinated by ths incredible Easter dress I made for my friend and guess what this dress isn't new at all. It is an old Jumpsuit I decided to recycle for her. Can you guess who makes a dress from a jumpsuit? That can only be me
That was the jumpsuit I transformed into the dress you see here
Last week I made a recycle task for her riping off seams and sewing something that later turned out beautiful she loved the outcome and has been wearing this dress around ever since.
Fast Forward to yesterday's Easter celebration she was lamenting over the weekend of not knowing what to wear for Easter celebration and church servic. I kept mute and pretended to not care, But upon reaching the house I took the second piece of the 2 outfit she gave me to recycle and worked on it only to surprise her by transforming the jumpsuit into a lovely dress she can wear to church.
I started with ripping out the seams and cutting off all the excesses
The clothes was a bit worn out and was tearing already, I had to cut off all the weak part and separate the upper bodice from the pant part.
At least if I can't but her new clothes I can devote my time to creating useful clothes from old materials for her.
All it requires is just my sacrifice of time and energy.
Here is the weaker parts of the fabrics tearing out by itself
The upper part of the jumpsuit
The lower part of the Jumpsuit
Having ripped off the seams I adjusted the measurements to her size and stitched up the upper parts
The upper part was easier to work with compared to the lower part.
I had wanted to make the clothes a jumpsuit since that was what it was initially but some parts of the outfits is no longer useful and having cut them out I can't achieve a jumpsuit again.
It was time to think about side the box and create a skirt from a pant. Quite a hard task here I must confess. I opened up the crotch and tried to make the pockets stay fixed in position.
I kept cutting and working until I turned that pant to a skirt
There is one little problems I had after making the dress, it has a front seam line which is not meant to be so for a standard outfit
I turned this problem to a creative design. Making the seam turn to a slit and closing the back slit usual back slit.
The back and front block
It is not good enough for the dress to stay with a centre front seamlines because of the crotch seam coming from the pant, but creating that slit made everything perfect.
Yesterday was very busy and a rush hour for me and I didn't get to snap a picture of her in the dress before she went to church having received a morning call from me to come and receive her surprise Easter dress.
She wasn't expecting this at all but I'm just glad that I made her day.
What do you think about a jumpsuit turned into a dress?
