Let' the Nigerian Education System stop Changing our Careers and Destiny

I have never thought that microbiology is where I will end up for a career choice unless for now that I am a graduate and might wish to push my career along another field entirely. Such is the case with many of us. At one entry point or the other they just change your course and career choice and because of so many factors beyond us and that we need the certificates we end up at the mercies of whatever decision they make for us.This takes the top place among some of the things that annoys me the most concerning the Nigerian Education system and how much I wish that it can be adjusted.

Every child has a passion they wish to manifest and it is a common thing for you to hear from the mouth of even the youngest school pupil to tell you about their career choice.

My parrot🦜 self had wanted to stick with Journalism but along the line my then principal wouldn't allow me in Art classes after crossing to SS1, they said that the most brilliant students in senior classes must remain in Science classes while the second category stay in commercial, art students were believed to be average students. That was the order in which they have distributed us then and changed my career path for life.
My gentle and obedient self then took their word for it, if it were now I would have insisted on what I wanted.

Coming down to our universities, thesame culture is played here as well, several students are never giving their chosen course of study for reasons I don't know. How can you pick a student who applied for medicine and give him a course in Agriculture?
It will be fair enough if that is done by our performance in exams to say the least, lets say that my entrance exam marks couldn't make up to the requirements for medicine and I am shifted to pharmacy, that will be fair at least that I made it much closer to my career. By this we will all know that we are responsible for whatever course we study based on the marks we are able to obtain.
Please tell the Nigerian Education sector to stop turning doctors to farmers and vice versa.

This is the one thing I would wish to remove from the Nigerian Education system and the other thing I will use to replace this is something similar.
Please stop making students read too many uneccessary books 📚.
I like the idea that the systems makes us to diversify into other fields and learn a bit of everything but we should know that not all of that knowledge was useful .

What have I ever done with the short hand I studied in business study?
We have joked about these issues on the X apps but there were no ordinary jokes.
Checked out advanced countries, once a child says it's medicine 💊, they direct his energy towards that line right from childhood removing the other diversions that may be a distraction. Having him concentrate on one thing will bring out the very best of him in that field.

The diversification of knowledge should be limited to certain level or certain subjects alone, a junior secondary school students offering 17courses in a term, this is just too much and after passing the class we hardly remember what we learnt there. The adjustment of these two, side by side is something I would like to do or at least practice in our education system to see it's impact at least. And on another note I can't be too sure that I know it all or why our school system practice the current norm or if that is possibly the best choice for us.

This is screaming Nigeria for crying out loud smart ones do good in art department too.
I hope someday we will understand better.
You see the issues of changing peoples course of study, that's one illness we need to erase coz why will someone who chose medicine be shifted to agric was the market obtained that bad.
The issue of so many books I pray that reduces too

Hmmmm, you see, the issue of piling up so many unnecessary subjects is really an issue. I know of primary schools that do 22 subjects all in the name of blended curriculum (British and Nigerian curriculum).

How do you expect a small child whose brain is still in the developmental stage to assimilate 22 subjects in a term?
