Despite our Hard work, Some weeds overshadowed a portion of our rice farm
Hello Hive
This will probably be the first portion of our rice grains to give us some food this year although how that will happen is still unclear fo me. 😄 We totally forgot about this part of the farm as it is located some distance away from the others.
It was among the first set of grains we have planted and you can see how it has fully grown. By now what these rice seedlings needs are some fertilizer to aid it with better seed production but we can't apply fertilizer to a field that has been taking over by bushes.
Just like our other rice farms that are close to term and are pregnant like we often call it locally this very one is even more closer than the other. From its appearance and length of growth you will notice that these will produce some seeds in no distance time
The certainty of this doing well is still vague, the rice has turned yellow leaves from the severe bush that has overshadowed it.
We can no longer apply herbicides fo this for weeding. Weeding has to be done by hand and manually but the grasses are too thick and scary for us to dip our hands in between
Such is the amount amount of grasses in between this rice field. I keep suggesting that we abandon this farm but looking at how much of our rice seedlings we have lost in the other parts of the field due to the dry spill, my daddy isn't willing to abandon this piece.
I didn't know how he did the magic but I left him in the farm yesterday after I got so tired and discouraged at this. It's difficult to use a hoe in-between seedlings as the planting of rice often gets seedlings really to close for us to work with hoe in between. It's difficult for myself to work on this farm and really stressful, I wish that daddy wouldn't do this either but if he has the zeal to, I may just support him. I hope that none of our other farms will develop this kind of weeds or probably they mute be within the range of which we can be able to apply herbicides to them.
Herbicides are dangerous for the environment but when we learn to use them right that can be useful in a good way.
The field may require some thinning after weeding too, it's a crucial step for this grains to do well. I don't just know how we possibly forgot about this portion of the farm but the reason isn't Farfetch as we often have load of work and activities in different directions during every farming year.
Hopefully we create a roaster of our farms and location to best keep track of everything.
One funny thing about weeding is it's always scary at first untill you bend down to weed. You can do it... Just start. It will be a waste abandoning this piece of land and the rice on it.
