Yearly we plant Groundnuts and even though it is the same but and sometimes the same location of farm, the experiences are often different. Sometimes it is a year of inadequate rainfall where our crops suffer terrible fate and some other times it is our negligence to plant at the right time or give the crops the necessary care that causes the crops to not produce well.

For this year our groundnuts were planted at the right time
Adequate care was giving to them. As we have applied chemicals to ye farm before planting and that has been a good control measure that had kept grasses at bay till the crops have grown to this very level.

Weeding will be done once for this groundnut farm but that will be towards the end of the month. As the groundnuts will be at the stage of seed production by next month.

These have grown past their first flowering stage that often indicate the preparation and start of seed production. But a major concern just sprang up which is looking more serious than it seems.

We have noticed this leaf spot disease in our groundnut plant ,causing the leaves to first fold and then wither off.

The disease has spread far into the farm before we are just noticing this. Although I have been a farmer for a long time now, I do not have as much book knowledge about agriculture to know what type of disease this is. We have in time past effectively handled some plant disease with natural means. For instance the leaf spot disease we often experience with vegetables are effectively treated with ash, sometimes we pull of and burn up infected plant to control the spread of disease

For this I am unsure what kind of disease it is yet and what control measure can we possibly use. And for a fact that some of the plants are withering off already is a major concern.

We have an agro store in town and often times they are useful in helping to diagnose our plant disease and possible solution of what can be done, we will need to consult them later in the day to look for a solution to this problem.

This disease can affect its production too, I don't like this because it means extra cost and if care is not taken it can cause loss of capital
