I must say that Germany and Austria have great hotels and trains. It was interesting to see that Dresden was rebuilt to a good standard considering the insane damage that was done.

You also have to consider that some rebuilding was under the old regime. You can see a lot of that in Berlin too. With some buildings they left the fire-blackened parts so you can see what is original.
If only people would learn that war doesn't solve problems...
We really didn't have enough time in Germany and Austria on our last trip but would definitely like to spend more time there.
Maybe in the late summer might work?
Berlin sounds interesting?
I like Berlin. It's not typical Germany, but then the country is quite varied. Hamburg is cool for Beatles stuff.
I enjoyed Germany and Austria and both countries were fascinating. I think it would be worth spending a month or two in each to get to see the various areas. The mountains in Austria were amazing. Berlin and Hamburg are on the list to visit.ππΈπΆ
