The Recent Risk I've Taken
Daily as the sun rises, we all are optimistic about life. No one knows what the future will bring, but we all are keeping hope alive that our future will be greater than our past. I don't think anyone on earth is pessimistic about life, we all hope for the best outcomes but life happens. Just like there are two sides in a coin so also are phases in life.
Life is in two phases, the good and the ugly, so risk taking is bound to happen in the journey of life. From the water we drink, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the minor and major roads we pass through, the means of transportation we decided to take, the businesses we transact and even sleeping in our various abodes are all risky.....so everything about life is full of risks and not taking risks in life is even very risky!
Making up ones mind in decision making takes the grace of God because one might think a particular thing is the best and the end result will be failure while what you thought is not the way might eventually bring fortune to others, life is so unpredictable but I've learnt that failure is part of life that prepares one for the future.
The main driving force that keeps me going in life is what will be will be, so no matter how hard it is for me I sometimes take some risky decision that whatever the results I won't mind.
The recent risk I took this year 2025 was enrolling for a year (weekend) course that will issue me Certificate in Education. Ever since I graduated from the university, I've been in the teaching profession without being properly certified as an Educator.
Although I have in mind to go for the course since I've been into teaching but my previous location of work which was a remote area wasn't favorable so I had to dump the idea hoping for the best in the future.
As the Divine would have it, I got a government appointment this year at Oyo State Nigeria which makes me relocate from a remote area to Ibadan the capital city of Oyo State. So without much thinking, I made up my mind to enroll for the course without wasting time.
Even though I've not been able to spend on myself like before because the program is money consuming and had almost skinned life out of me because of its numerous expenses, I don't mind because I know it will later pay off. Been in it for the past six months and I'm proud of myself for taking the risk at the early stage of my new job.
Once I've been certified, it will be an added advantage for me if I want to do anything pertaining to the educational line and also helps me have a greater chance if at all I want to apply for any teaching opportunities even in tertiary institutions.
As human beings, risk taking is part of our daily life. We can't do without taking risk, so I'm part of the risk takers who doesn't fear the outcome!
