Emergency responders
Good day everyone, welcome to my blog. It's the 4th day of Mayinleo initiative and this post will be my first participation since the inception of this initiative, so without further delay let's get started.
As human beings we are created by our maker to be of help to one another, no one can say since his or her birth, he or she had never been helped by someone. Emergency responders could be friends, family members or even strangers when you least expect it, they rally round just to help in their own little way.

Some years ago in my beloved country Nigeria, it's very rare to see firefighters respond to an urgent situation if there is fire outbreak. Although we barely have a fire outbreak some years back not like now, but when it happens on such a rare occasion, it's one story or the other that you will be hearing from the fire service. They might sometimes say no water in the truck or the truck is faulty, you just hear lots of unpleasant excuses and most times they arrive at the scene very late when lives and properties had already been destroyed.
But recently, the federal government of Nigeria has improved the fire service in almost all the states in the federation and they are fully equipped with modern gadgets. If at all I didn't know that of any state, the fire service of my state had been doing great in recent times in stopping fire and I'm a witness to one around late last year.

A shopping complex which was a storey building just caught fire out of no where and I was in a salon at the opposite side. Everyone ran for safety, a trader selling electronics at the downstairs of the storey building that caught fire was among those that ran for their lives from the building, so the man called the fire service for emergency help.
To our surprise in less than five minutes, the firefighters were already around to put out the fire. Two trucks were brought to the scene, it was as if we were all watching foreign movie, to our amazement the fire was put out in a twinkle of an eye.
No lives were lost that day but some of the fabrics in the fabric store where the fire started from got burnt while some were saved. But with the swift response of the firefighters, the whole building was saved from destruction because if they had not responded swiftly to the call, the whole building would have burnt down to ashes. Before people would risk their lives and get to the first floor with buckets of water and soap, the whole fabric store would have burnt and the fire would turn to a huge one.
Everyone present at the fire scene applauded the firefighters for their swift response and it was surprising to me that I could experience such a moment in my lifetime. It was later discovered that the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the building control room, so the fire now strikes the ceiling of the fabric store at the top floor of the building. The trader that called the fire service was appreciated while the firefighters that responded swiftly was also appreciated for their efforts for safe guiding lives and properties.
