Animal Conservation
A zoo is a place where live animals are exhibited and as well taking care of. It's a recreational center that attracts both young and the old, so one of the main reason why zoos are created is for enticement, entertainment and as well for learning the different kinds of animals that are in existence.
Most times, land masses for zoos are a large area so that animals can at least feel that they are in their natural environment even though it's an artificial one created by man.
Concurrently, recreational parks are sometimes in the zoo, there are always portions where you can sit and enjoy yourself after watching the animals in their sections. The first time I visited the zoo was when I was in my first year at the university, my university has a zoo so my friends and I decided to end the semester with an excursion to the zoo.
Moreso it's at a discount price for the students of the school so we decided to have fun at the place that year. It was a fun filled day for the three of us and I still remembered how one my friends almost fainted when she heard the lion roared.....I knew her heart stopped beating for a few seconds that day because she was scared to death........lolz
Do you think that the wild animals are being exploited for human entertainment?
To me I didn't see the creation of Zoos as an animal exploitation, man is created to rule and have dominion over everything that the Divine has created, so creating Zoos and Recreational parks isn't a bad idea at all for human entertainment and pleasure.
Animals are kept there for public viewing and as well for learning one or two things about their nature and species.
If not for the Zoos, the majority of us won't know what a lion or Gorilla looks like in real life because no one can promise me any amount of money whether in Heaven or on earth to follow him or her to the jungle where wild animals live so as to see them life and direct.......when I no dey craze....I won't go. I can't go and put my life in danger all because I want to see wild animals.
So having them in a reserved place is a nice idea and there are also experts who have degrees in the animals sciences and what a view that are taking care of them.
Though some people might argue that they are better off in the wild then the cage because the cage is restricting their movement. But to me, they are more safer in the cage than the wild. Being in the cage preserves their lives and also gives them the assurance of having urgent medical attention when the needs arise.
Therefore, putting wild animals in cages or enclosed areas for people to watch is a good thing to me. You can see them at your convenience, learn about them and as well know what they look like in real life.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Zoos are indeed a way to educate and also see animals face to face...
