Compliments of the season to you all in this wonderful community, hope you had a wonderful Christmas celebration/holiday season? It's new year and I'm grateful to be alive hale and healthy, I hope this year deliver unto us good tidings and all our heart desires... Amen

We all know that life is in phases, sometimes we have both pleasant and unpleasant moments in the journey of life. No matter how we pray for an easy life, we will still experience some difficult times and those tough times are meant to teach us how to go through life itself. Year 2023 was filled with both ups and downs for some of us here in Nigeria.

At a time I felt like giving up because it as if everything was stagnant and there was no way out from the difficult situation that we are in. Early 2023 started with redesigning of some Naira notes couple with the Presidential election that was held in February.

The cashless policy that time affected almost everyone that it's so difficult to get money to spend. It got to an extent where we started buying money with money....imagine going to a POS stand to withdraw #1000 and you are give #600 chaiii or queue for several hours in bank only for you to be giving just #2000 from your own money.. what a pathetic situation💔.

There was a time I spent #1,000 for like 2weeks.. lolz.....It was during that period that I knew the importance of having just #100, I learnt to over manage myself in a hard way. Bank transactions weren't going through and the economy was down, everything was just static. A lot of people lost their lives and businesses in this tragic time, the first quarter of 2023 was full of troubles, it was just by the grace of God that we could scale through.

Then June 2023, there came the rise in fuel pump price. This affected the transport sector and it almost collapsed some businesses because the petrol pump price increased times three. It was very difficult for me to leave the village where I'm working because the transport fare skyrocket from #1500 to #4000, this prevented me from traveling home frequently.

People now trek to cover some distance before they can board a taxi while others go out only when it's very important and if not that important, people now stay back at home. It's now very rare to see someone visiting you all because of the exorbitant transport fare.

In short, the year 2023 really changed the way many of us had been living our lives and there are numerous hard lessons we learnt from this said year. I can't just write all what we went through but in all, I'm so grateful to God that myself, family members and friends were able to scale through 2023 unscathed.

In the midst of all the challenges in the year, my elder sis rounded up her Master degree program and my two younger ones also had their convocation ceremony from the University. Both of them are now undergoing their NYSC, God is indeed merciful unto me and family, and I can't thank Him enough for this immeasurable favor. I appreciate all what God has done and still doing for me, may His name be forever praised.

Thanks for visiting my blog and Happy new year once again to you all❤️

God never thinks like a man, I said to myself yesterday. When we think that we have nothing to be grateful for especially with the rate of things, he makes you see a thousand and one reasons to be grateful.

Even when complain about everything happening around us, we still have something to be grateful for. Congratulations to your family on those wins, it is a big win, and more wins to come.

Indeed, the past year was tough for the average Nigerian.
When I think back to how bad things there during the money scarcity period, I almost flinch because it was really terrible.

But we are alive now aren't we. Glory be to God for that. And congratulations to your siblings on their academic achievements. Completing a master's degree is not child's play and convocating is such a monumental mile stone.. Kudos to them all.

I hope the new is kinder to us.

It was indeed a roller coaster year and we all faced huge difficulties, especially with the price rise of each product and the price hike was too much. Somehow we all still surviving and we need to be grateful.

There is always something to be grateful for and people only fail to see the good things happening around them because they pay too much attention to the troubles going on around them.

The cash issue then was a big problem and Nigerians felt the heat. Fast forward to the subsidy removal, the price of things skyrocketed and we even pay more than double the price of goods today but here we are still surviving.

Congratulations on your sister's success in their academics.
