The UK's D.O.G.E is even more depressing than Elon Musk's
If anybody has been keeping track, the UK is essentially a third world country now. Its decline has been phenomenal and its trajectory even more impressively depressing.

Now, there's a lot of reasons for this, with insane levels of immigration, NHS inefficiency, Nimbyism, bureaucracy, lack of productivity, inability to build infrastructure, lack of investment, to name a few.
But through family and friends, social media and more, I've sat here, abroad, for years hearing anecdote after anecdote of the absolute, sheer wastage - or perhaps, corruption - that has left the country in tatters.
But even though I am utterly bewildered at every given turn of events, every ridiculous story, the sheer capacity of wastage was not even conceptualised until Elon Musk opened this DOGE project, highlighting and shutting down needless departments burning money for stupid and unimportant goals. You can track it on X or whatever if you like.
Long story short for the US, billions of dollars of contracts get passed through either because nobody read them, they were read and had more corrupt intent, or they were agreed upon for international hegemonic soft power to turn the international stage in favour of whatever current political goals the US had (democrat left, in this case).
Well, the UK is worse. An account on X has decided to take inspiration from DOGE and do the Lord's work themselves and here are a few infuriating things it has uncovered that the British taxpayer are scammed into paying for:
UK's Phenomenal Financial Waste
- Working With Whiteness Workshop.
A taxpayer-funded PhD on porcelain as a medium to interrogate whiteness. It's exactly what it sounds like. Women do pottery while discussing 'ideological whiteness as oppression'

This resulted in a film called OINK! Gay Pig, according to the abstract, refers to: Gay people who push the limits of their bodies' integrity through relentless, condomless penetrations, stretching of the rectal sphincter, and exchanges of all kinds of bodily fluids (sperm, urine, saliva, etc). It's used in websites like NastyKingPigs.com or Asspigs.com
Cost: £194,183

The list keeps going.
Conclusion
Pretty insane eh?
The thing is, these things aren't hidden. They're just drowned in a sea of spending and kind of kicked under the rug quietly. These things have been raised in parliament, even, as major concerns. I mean, do they honestly think all the 25 million going to Somalia for green urban growth, is actually going to go to green urban growth? Not just in somebody's pocket who works in the UK government or their pals in Somalia?
And even if so, WHY? Why are the British taxpayers paying for urban growth in Somalia? What possible mutual agreement could we have that in any way benefits or enriches us?
A lot of the above is clearly highly ideological, too. A lot of left, far-left, woke kinda stuff. You might love it or hate it, but either way, the UK is BROKE right now. We're descending into a pit of steaming manure with a rusty penny somewhere at the bottom we're all desperately trying to swim down and grab. Why are we wasting so much money on this stuff right now? Wait until the day, 300 years from now, when we have money to spare for christ's sake.
The current government often quotes the '22 billion pound black hole' from the last leadership, and yet, JUST what I have listed here amounts to almost 2 billion pounds. And this is the small stuff. This is just the sneaky stuff slipping through the cracks without anyone noticing. Add that to the actual party talking points and we're just a total joke of a nation.
£18,000,000,000 sent to the Chagos Isles in order for us to GIVE THEM the island??
What do we get in return? International mockery.
That deal alone, combined with the above list of utter waste, would all but wipe out the 'black hole' and leave little more than a small bank loan of debt.
But oh well. Let's just keep screwing everyone over with high taxes and suppression of freedoms.
Please please do it for sports grants. :D Sure there's a lot of BS that happens in the Arts that isn't probably worth the funding, but oh golly good gosh does the Sports sector (at least in Australia) and "local clubs" get disproportionate funding directly into nepotistic renovations to facilities that are often "pay to play" as opposed to being truly "Free" for the community to enjoy.
There's so much waste in all areas of government spending, and I'm fully aware of my stance here be very much what-about-ism, but I don't care. My what-about-ism is about equity.
Equity, as opposed to equality. There's a difference.
I'm losing fondness for equality AND equity as time goes by. If that's controversial I can explain but otherwise I'd bloat the reply unnecessarily XD
The idea scares me but... I wonder if sports is more likely to at least have a return on investment? The videos I saw being produced in some of the above have like 22 views in the last 11 months... What do we get in return for Somalian green urban projects? A thank you note?
I dunno about AUS sports but I remember seeing USA public high school sports coaches have insane salaries, like 300k or something, and is the highest paid public sector job in almost every state. That's pretty mental.
That's probably more than the PRIME MINCE-ESTER
Its crazy. I once wrote a ranting post about the ROI of a carpark structure that was being built locally and it made NO economic sense, even with taking into account "iNfRaStRuCtUrE"
Yeah Americans are unfairly paid. Some of their doctors get 10x what the equivalent doctor gets in UK. I think you guys get at least 3-4x, too.
Well, I take a little comfort knowing we're not the worst out there, per se. Although I'd be interested to learn what international nonsense Australia is up to, too
There's a YouTube Channel for that:
Oh god dude you have no idea. We can't build shit! We had a new Nuclear plant with a budget of 18 billion quid (briefly mentioned in the video) - already one of the most expensive ever. But due to, well, basically paperwork and bureaucracy, that cost is now 43 billion, and climbing. By far the most expensive EVER BUILT on the planet.
The recoup costs, everybody's bills will skyrocket immediately. Fantastic.
lol
The other material on that channel is just as... good. I guess. Its just politics: resident evil edition.
