What More Hours Would Do!

I think I remember reading somewhere that we do not need more time. What we need is to master time management. On one hand, I agreed and on the other, I thought we still needed more time. So, a question popped up, does more of something mean our problems go away? For example, more money doesn’t guarantee that all our problems will just vanish. I feel it is the same thing with time. If you cannot manage what you already have, you will mismanage whatever you get. However, I want to imagine that I am really good with my time and then I get blessed with an additional 12 hours.

So, I just picked up a new training that would last for quite some time. Who knows, if I do exceptionally well I may even be hired. Right now, I am just training with the organisation. Now, I have five (working) days in a week and I spend two days in the week buried with training. Doing stuff I have imagined but not tried before, getting frustrated by mistakes and gritting myself through it. It can take me twelve hours to finish an hour's task and that is because I am very new to this stuff.

Wait though, what if I had twelve additional hours to my twenty-four hours? At this point, I won’t be more productive. I would be very lazy. It will be an excuse to procrastinate because I have so much time. I already do that with the twenty-four hours I have and only learning properly how to navigate through it. But let us say I was now a pro at this time management thing and I got slapped with extra hours. Boy! There are some things I would use that time to learn. Things I have really been passionate about. One is dance, the other is horse riding, playing the guitar, and music production.

I know I can learn all these things with time but just imagine I had extra time to learn them faster. Maybe I might even surpass my expectations and learn to fly a plane! Time is an asset that never really gets old or expires. It’s value doesn’t decrease, you can either catch up with it and increase your value or fall behind and become redundant.

It would be very nice having more hours in the day. That, however, doesn’t make the problem go away. I think we can have enough time to get things done if we do it right, yet a part of me still moans for more hours even when I know it is impossible.

On many days I have also wished I had more hours in my hands so that I would be able to achieve more, but there are also days I have a lot of hours in my hand and I couldn't achieve anything because I kept procrastinating that there's time and I end up not doing that thing or doing it late.

So what I do now is learn how to manage my time even though I have not fully achieved this, just like you a part of me still needs more hours to be added to a day 😁

That's the spirit! Make do with what you have.

I get your views Herr friend, extra hours would make us lazy or on the other end workaholic. You know your boss would want to steal them all from you. So let's just hang onto time management unless we could personally fast track or backtrack time without others knowing.
