Taveta Golden Weaver Feeding

Whenever I can catch a small bird like this feeding, I know I will be lucky enough to get some shots, as it will likely be in one spot for a little while. It looked like an apple slice that was suspended from the wire here, and the Taveta Golden Weaver was seemingly enjoying every bite. The area that this bird was in at the Calgary Zoo is fairly dark, so it's a tough environment to get good shots in. It's opportunities like these that make it worth being a bit patient for, as trying to chase some action in the near darkness is a lot harder than just waiting for this little bird to go have a bite.
