Monomad: Prince's Island Park Calgary Alberta Canada
Across from downtown there is an island that has a large park that hosts all kinds of recreation and events. Even in the wintertime it's beautiful to walk around. I imagine for many workers downtown, it's a great place to have lunch or go for a walk or run. Some of the park is kept as it was naturally; there is a small forest on the northern edge going further east. There are also a few buildings and structures for events. The river freezes over in the winter, so there is also ice skating on the river, and it's a great gathering point for families.
