Monomad: McDougall Center Downtown Calgary Alberta Canada

McDougall Center, formerly known as McDougall School, was originally completed in 1907. It is built primarily from sandstone, like many local buildings of the era. It was here that teachers would go for training before being sent to run their own classrooms in various Alberta schools up until about 1945.It then served as a junior high school, followed by an elementary school, until about 1981, when the population started to shift out of downtown Calgary's core. It is designated as a historic site, still stands today, and looks the same on the exterior as it did over 100 years ago when it was first constructed.
