Loons on the water

Loons are a bird found across Canada, and they even adorn our 1-dollar coin, the "loonie," which was named for these birds. I usually see them in ponds like this, typically, where there are not that many people around. They will float with the ducks and geese and are very similar to them as aquatic birds. They can also be found in freshwater lakes during breeding season and are very adept divers, surviving on a diet primarily of fish.
