Hedgehog Adventurer Statue

I am not entirely sure of the origins of this statue. It was in my friends house when I was learning photography over a decade ago. It was perfect for me to test out some close ups and macro shots, I didn't quite know what I was doing then but was pleased to get this shots sharp. I was using a pop-up flash, which I do not use anymore as my current camera does not include one. Sometimes I look back at images like this and wish it did, as I have to rely on either a lighting setup or a larger flash to get things lit the way I want. For these shots, I didn't think as much; it took some trial and error to see how things went. Simpler shots from a simpler time. They still hold up, which teaches me that no matter how complicated things seem, sometimes a simple approach can work just as well .

It's great that you learned photography through experimenting with the statue! Your journey with different lighting methods has likely helped you grow as a photographer. Sometimes simpler approaches work just as well. Keep capturing moments you enjoy!
