Flower Macro Black-Eyed Susan

They call this flower the Black-Eyed Susan. I had never heard of this name, although I have seen these flowers in different gardens around Calgary over the years. They will usually grow to between 1 and 3 feet tall with leaves around 6 inches long. They tend to attract quite a few insects for their nectar, and as they move pollen from one to another, it will cause more seeds to grow, which can move easily in the wind. I enjoy the look and structure of these flowers; the little points at the top look quite neat in macro, especially where shallow depth of field is concerned.

Beautiful looks at a common flower to see the uncommon details!

Love how you point out the pollinators turning these into little seed factories, and the wind does teh rest. That cycle makes the whole patch kind of self spreading, which is definitley neat < and a bit wild. Nature doing free logistics is kinda funny, like tiny couriers on wings, lol.
