Fascinating Fossils
Many millions of years ago these creatures roamed the earth, right here in my home province of Alberta. The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is home to many of the amazing discoveries from 10s to hundreds of millions of years. It is actually quite astounding to me when I look at these to consider just how old that really is, and I find when I came here as a child vs. as an adult, my perspective now is even more awe-inspiring. The discoveries here range back to all across the 20th and 21st centuries. There are some great plaques describing these amazing giant lizards, and some of the stories about how they were found are quite interesting as well. Many come from ongoing work at different resource development sites, and it's something that has involved collaborations across many industries to ensure that these finds are recovered and preserved as best they can.
What a joy to read this publication because I work at the Institute of Geology and Paleontology of Cuba and all publications that have to do with these topics are very interesting.
In our center we have a museum and, although it does not have fossils of this size, it does have collections of ammonites, fossil echinoderms, nudists and others that make it the most complete museum in the country in this branch.
Thank you for sharing.
Very beautiful images and very well preserved fossils.
Happy weekend.
Cheers and greetings.
