Cosplay and Creativity

Many cosplayers take pride in putting the work in and crafting their costumes. Some are going for authenticity as they are playing a character from fiction, whether it's movies and TV or comics and other works. Others do interesting mixes on themes, mashups, and cross-genre characters. In talking to many of them over the years, it seems that the creation of their costumes and the journey to get there can be as much fun as the destination. Spending weeks and months creating pieces and parts of the whole takes a fair amount of dedication, and it's great that they have many events at which they can show off their works now as well as being able to share on social media.
