Clouds, Silhouettes and Golden Hour

The orange, red, yellow, and golden glow in the sky is one of my all-time favorite things to capture, like many photographers, I'm sure. Watching the clouds change color as the setting sun illuminates them has an almost mystical feel to me as I witness the shift take place.

There was a real mix of the types of patterns the clouds were making here, so I was able to attempt a few different looks. The silhouette effect is a simple trick that comes from just exposing for the sky; when you have something else in the foreground, it will take on this dark, featureless effect, which can add something interesting to the frame.
