Chilean Flamingos
I've known people who told me they didn't realize that pink flamingos were real until they were standing next to me at the zoo observing them. Personally, I've known of them since I was a kid, just reading animal books. I think many people see them as lawn ornaments and just don't think anything else about them.
I think they are quite interesting; they will stand on 1 foot to both conserve body heat and sleep. Their neck has 19 vertebrae, so they have maximum flexibility when preening their feathers. They are found in South America, Chile bieng one country which gives this breed its namesake.
