My local zoo has an indoor butterfly enclosure where, all year round, you can see butteflies in various states of life in a natural plant-filled environment. Its a great place to get nice and close, as often these butteflies will be fairly docile, and you can find them perched on leaves and different surfaces, allowing one to capture other angles and take the time to get a good, sharp image.

Thanks! I used a Nikon 40mm DX Macro lens for these. Nice lens for getting in closer then other macro lenses allow.

I'm glad you can say you've seen one now. Its really fun to be able to see so many different types of them too!
