The Bloodline Choice of my parents.
Note: This is a fictional story ooo. It is not based on real events but just a creative imagination.
Today is my 20th birthday. I woke up thinking it was going to be a normal day like every other one. Just calls from a few friends, maybe a slice of cake from my parents, a couple of chats on WhatsApp and then back to my usual routine. I have always lived a quiet life. Nothing too loud. Nothing too soft. I have always believed I came from a simple home. My dad is a quiet man, not too friendly but not wicked. My mom is the more active one, always checking things, always looking like she is expecting something to go wrong but still holding everything together like a champion.
For as long as I can remember, they never talked much about their own families. If I asked about my grandparents or cousins, they would either change the topic or say something vague like "You will know when the time is right." I never really pressed them. I just assumed maybe they had rough pasts they didn’t want to discuss.
But today, everything came out.
I found two letters on my desk. One was wrapped in an old black cloth, the other sealed with red wax like something from a movie. I first opened the black cloth. It was from my dad. The writing was in his handwriting but different, like it was written in a hurry but still strong and confident. He said, "My son, you are not just a regular young man. You come from blood that is feared and respected. I am the son of a criminal warlord who ruled an empire of underground business across borders. I ran away to live a normal life because I wanted to give you peace. But now the empire is calling again. They want you to return as the new heir."
I was still processing that madness when I opened the second letter. This one came from my mom. The paper smelled like perfume and the handwriting was neat and serious. She said, "My dear, I have hidden this from you for too long. I am the daughter of a top level secret agent. My father served in the most elite intelligence unit. I was raised around secrets and survival skills. Now the agency wants you. They have watched you from a distance and believe you are ready."
I swear, I did not know whether to laugh, cry or scream. Both sides of my family are powerful and dangerous in their own ways. One is built on shadows and crime. The other on secrets and national security. And both of them want me to carry the mantle.
What do I do?
I am not rushing into any decision. I have to meet these people. I need to look into their eyes. I want to ask them questions they never expected. What do they truly stand for? What have they done? And most of all, what do they want from me now?
Maybe I will choose one side. Maybe I will walk away from both. Or maybe, just maybe, I will find my own path. One that takes the wisdom and strength from both worlds and turns it into something new. Something better.
But one thing is sure, I will not be used. I will not be pushed around by family names or legacies. If I take any step, it will be because I decided to, not because they said I must.
So yes, my life was average up until today. But from now on, everything is different. And this time, I am the one writing the story.
Once again ooo, this is just a fictional story. I am not related to any warlord or secret agent. I am just someone with a wild imagination.

One would need enough time and days to think carefully to come to a conclusion. Choosing a side is obviously positioning oneself as a close threat to the other party.
Learning more about each side of the family would give some hints and clues on what side to choose.
But what if you are not giving a time 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's an issue though,I will give them a condition. If I am really needed to be the next leader then they most give me time to get ready, else I will join the other side (which they won't want because I will be a potential threat to them)
