Christmas is one of the most anticipated seasons of the year because it comes with all vibes of celebration, gifting, parting, and showing love to one another, In addition to its religious significance, the Christmas season over time has also become a traditional and cultural holiday celebrated by people of various entity around the globe.

hiveghana wants everyone to give a glimpse of the holiday which the holiday is a result of Christmas, though I have a lot of activities that I have done already since the Christmas holiday began and I also have other things to do in the course of the holiday but I will mention but a few of them that have spice and give color to my holiday.

Having been given two weeks of holiday by the University of Uyo, I quickly packed my bags and moved to join the rest of my family members in the village, great to know that in my family we have some traditional activities to attend to whenever we come together like this, especially in every December, keep calm as I state them below.

Though this year's Christmas got us in two spheres, the normal Christmas routine and mom's birthday which is always on every 25th of December which was yesterday, this part has made me love Christmas since childhood because it is the most fun and thrilling time of the year for me and my mom, it's the time I got to see most of our family friends, relatives and lot more and all this usual made my holiday exceptional.

Decorating and cleaning the house and its environment:
A peak of my holiday will see me cleaning and decorating everything in the house, but this doesn't mean that I don't usually clean the house before now since we might be having a lot of visitors coming to the house to celebrate mom birthday and Christmas, it was best to clean, wash the necessary things and decorate the surrounding so everywhere will be neat to have a blissful holiday.

After the days of clean up and sanitization, the next thing was a visit to the nearby market to buy food items, Christmas lights and flowers, gifts for the visitor, and linen for table covers. I and mom got to the market and purchased some items such as rice, yam, chicken, and assorted seasonal ingredients, I had to pack everything into the car which I was proud to do so because I knew that this holiday would be ditty.
My mother being an original African woman, cherishes gifts and gives attention to visitors whenever we have one in our mist, be it during the festive period or non-festive period, so mom gets gifts for the family members which every other person will do so, not minder the price rate of the gift but the act behind the giver and this spirit have been instilled in me since childhood.

Mom's birthday came and passed, which was yesterday as I have said before, and since the holiday days were planned in such a way that each day was fixed for something, the next thing that was done was traveling down to Calabar, where my maternal parents reside currently, by this traveling I was opportune to meet attend the Calabar festival day which was done traditionally and all the cultural activities was displayed according to such as the Ekpe and nnabo, I had a lot of fun time I must say.

The eating of different luxury foods and delicacies was not kept aside as this holiday was an avenue to relax and eat to our satisfaction, after this week, I will proudly brag to my colleagues in school on how my holiday was well spent and all the types of food I ate.

That's all about my holiday for now as many other things will be done as the day passes. Let me use this time to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. thanks for stopping by and going through my little post, do well to reach out to me through the comment box and kindly make use of the upvote button.
