Impermanence, thus uncontrollable. Let things go.

Here’s a powerful lesson gathered from Venerable Mengcan’s teaching below.

Loosely translated:

What is life? It’s impermanent.

What is there to vex about? There is no need to.

Let things go.

You think you are in control of your body? You think your body is yours? Think again. Can you control your illness?

When something terrible is over, you know its over and nothing to be concerned about.

It’s the same when you are confronting it at the moment.

Nothing to be concerned about. Let things go.

Life is just that.

Funny, it's been something I've been focusing on since my father died, particularly in last few days. Let go, let go, let go. A d this was the first post at top of my feed when I opened up Hive this morning.

A lot of people love to hold grudges, or don't want to forget bad things that happened in the past. I find myself doing this too from time to time. Your post is a good reminder to let these things go. Thank you.

Very tricky as the mind is very fast and slippery. It makes me forget the fact that all things are impermanent!
