My experience watching Angels of Death

When I started watching Angels of Death, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. To be honest, it's not the kind of anime I usually choose, because its style is darker and more abstract than what I'm normally drawn to. However, the premise caught my attention: a girl who wakes up in a strange building with no clear memories and has to find a way out. That simple idea alone made me curious, because what would you do if you opened your eyes in a totally unfamiliar place, not knowing who to trust or where to go?

The protagonist, Rachel, conveys a sense of fragility, but at the same time she has something that hooks you. She's not the typical strong, confident heroine; on the contrary, her silence and expressions raise questions. The interesting thing is that she doesn't travel alone: a character appears who, in theory, would be the last person you would want to trust. That strange and complicated relationship is, for me, what sustains the whole story. It's not just about escaping the place, but about how two such different people can find themselves in the midst of chaos and, in some way, need each other.

What surprised me most was the atmosphere. Each floor of the building has its own “personality,” with an unsettling air that kept me wondering what might happen next. There are chapters where not much happens, but I still felt that constant tension. The visual style, although not my favorite, has a strange charm: it's minimalist and surreal at the same time, which makes everything seem like a weird dream you can't wake up from.

I'm not going to lie, there were moments when I thought, “This is too abstract for me.” But at the same time, that same strangeness was what kept me watching. Because every time I thought I understood what was going on, the story threw something unexpected at me. And that game of mystery is what ultimately hooked me.

I recommend it if you're looking for a different kind of anime that doesn't stick to the traditional. Angels of Death isn't for everyone, but it has something that makes it special: a mix of suspense, psychological tension, and characters that seem more like symbols than mere people. In the end, regardless of whether you like the style or not, it leaves you thinking. And that, for me, is already a plus.
