It's More or Less the Best Curation Compilation.jpg

The Minimalist community presents It's More or Less the Best, a curation compilation highlighting some outstanding blogs published over the past week.

These selected authors shared their personal stories and views on different aspects of their minimalist lifestyle, giving some insight into what the style of living involves.

This compilation is presented to help shine the spotlight on the selected posts, with the hope that you will take a look at them in case you missed any.

Outstanding Minimalists Blogs in no particular order.

Balancing Minimalism & Culture In The Act Of Gifting.

✨"Diving deep into the act of gifting, my lifestyle and culture don't play along very well. As a minimalist, taking things that are of no use to me contradicts my lifestyle. It would only cause cluttering, which I detest a lot, but rejecting gifts is taboo to an extent in my culture. A lot of people take it as a sign of disrespect, especially when it involves older people, particularly among family members." @george-dee

Wrapped But Not Needed.

✨"We can simply collect it and give it out to someone who would have a use for them or would appreciate them more. Trashing or disposing of a gift because we don't like it is very bad. It is better not to collect them at all than to dispose of them because that would not only be bad, it would also be wasteful and if I was the giver and I found out something I gifted out was trashed, I would let the person know I would never give them anything else ever again." @rukkie

Buying Less Allows You To Shop Responsibly

✨"Even thrifting has gotten expensive here because more people are doing it since the economy is bad. Both for themselves and to resell (people will hunt for deals and resell online for more). Thrift stores know this and have jacked up their prices because they can. So the odds of my poor butt being able to find something quality for cheap at a thrift store are low. The thrift stores are also overrun with the cheap, falling-apart stuff from Shien and Walmart, so it's a treasure hunt (the people who enjoy shopping for fun do this too). I do not enjoy shipping for fun, lol. I want to get what I need and get out!" @phoenixwren

Minimemo #1 - Less but Better

✨"A journey won’t be that difficult if there are also people going through it. This is why, this year I took some time to list all the things I’ve owned and put a stop to any future extra purchases. It helps me become more conscious of my spending and whether I need to buy another shade of lipstick which, to be honest, they’re still in the same shade only a little lighter.

This little list right here will help me reach my saving goals faster too and also not be wasteful." @macchiata

Sooner or later you're gonna end by yourself... Don't be afraid about that!

✨"Our life is what we choose to make of it. .... For this reason, we must learn to deal with our conflicts and recognise when we imitate behaviours or actions that simply make us worse. Again, what I have learned is personal and in no way is it a coaching or brainwashing form.... Believe me, you will eventually come across moments where you will have to fend for yourself. Mainly mentally and philosophically. Deciding, thinking, and acting, are actions that all of us have but are very much linked to how you understand loneliness. It does not do much good to demonise a state that is natural to all of us, not to exalt it as if it were an achievement. " @chris-chris92

Simplifying my day while learning to improve my life

✨"After a good night's rest or not, usually my days start with reading whether I feel good or not emotionally, as I told you in my previous post I take the time to read and reflect on what I read, I need to do so because it helps me to have a more positive day and motivated to grow, improve and develop qualities, this is something I do every day after waking up and before anything else." @jemima1996

Very Mindful, Very At Peace

✨"More than anything, I like the peace I’m beginning to achieve. My life could get chaotic sometimes and more than anything, my mind could be in a frenzy at certain points. Doing this routine every morning places me in an all-day mindful state. My thoughts are more coherent and there’s no clash in the number of things whirling in my head. From school to work, relationships and Hive, there’s this tendency I have to panic because it feels like I’m going through too many things at once." @jhymi

Stylish Saturday - Cactus in "my office".

✨"I also think it's special to have something natural and beautiful nearby that you are paying attention to. It is no longer simply having a plant that a friend gave me. Now I have something I feel responsible for. It sounds a bit crazy, but it is no secret to anyone the complex systems that work to keep a plant alive, and I feel responsible for keeping it alive." @aaalviarez

Mindful Minimalism || Calming the Chaos Within and Around Me

✨"I had a moment the other day that felt like a quiet epiphany. I was washing dishes—not exactly a glamorous task—and I caught myself grumbling internally about all the things I still had to do. I could feel a gradual increase in my stress level. So, I stopped. Started playing music, took a pen and paper, wrote every task I needed to do and honestly, who would have thought writing a to-do list would be the solution? By deciding to take things step-by-step rather than grumbling, wishing the moment away or feeling the pressure." @whatmidesays

My Little Exchange System

✨"One thing I know about gifting is that it’s not so right to reject a gift just because you don’t want it. So in such cases, I rely on my exchange system and distribute it to those who need it. I start with my nuclear family. Now this can get very tricky because my mom and siblings are maximalists and they always like everything they see, as far as it’s nice." @abenad

Some additional tips

🔸 The community encourages authors to engage and build rapport with other team members by leaving meaningful comments.

🔸 If possible we recommend that authors try to use original photos taken by you. Photos count toward the possibility of your post being curated.

🔸 Just a reminder that the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas is presented with ideas on topics to write about and to help you to structure your blogs, they are not meant to be questionnaires for you to list information and publish.

🔸 The presentation of your blog goes a long way and sharing aspects of your lives and your personal stories and experiences should be a lot more than a list that can be found in various places over the web.

🔸 You do not need to wait or only blog in response to the prompts provided. You're free to share any aspect of your minimalist lifestyle at any time.

Thank you for checking out the #MoreOrLessTheBest Curation Compilation presented by The Minimalist. This is the new official community account, where the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas and all community events and activities will be published.
I invite you all to get involved and share your stories about minimalism, and perhaps you would like to invite someone.
