Eid-Ul-Adha 2k24
It's raining outside and she says that we should make dua(wishes) during rain, the Almighty accepts our duas during that time. Almighty is generous, He accepts our duas every second, still, it doesn’t harm if the rain reminds us to make some special wishes. Like the falling stars. Whether the stars are falling or it's been raining, we have none but one to make our wishes who can grant and fix things that might seem impossible at first glance.
It's already 12:01 PM and I am still in bed. My whole body is in pain. Yesterday, we the Muslims celebrated one of the biggest festivals, Eid-Ul-Adha, which symbolizes sacrifice. Literally teaches us to sacrifice the beast in us and devote ourselves to the Almighty as there is nothing except him in the true sense for us. Everything is temporary except Him.
Exactly three days ago, we bought our cow for the sacrifice that we had sacrificed yesterday. Every year, this Eid brings a different joy and festive atmosphere among us. Those who are able to buy an animal, even if a goat that costs around 100usd, they may do so to sacrifice in the name of Almighty Allah. Throughout the whole month, we start preparing for this, people go to the haat (markets where these animals are sold) and look for their preferred animal to bring home. By the grace of the Almighty we were able to sacrifice as well, may He accept all our sacrifices.
Like every Eid, we went to perform our prayer for Eid. This time, as the rain was there even the day before Eid, we couldn’t gather in the open field that we call Eidgah, so we had to pray inside the mosque. After that, visited the graveyard as well to remember those who have left us already and prayed for them. One day we have to go there too. Every time, I visit the graveyard, an unknown fear surrounds me, that's the final destination for all of us, who knows when is our time? This is something that reminds us that we came from nothing and shall return as well.
Returned home and sacrificed the cow that we had brought. In Islam, we are said to divide it into three portions equally. One portion is for us, one portion is for the relatives and one for the poor people around us. This is Islam, which teaches us to share our happiness and bring equality among everyone. That's what we did, divided them and distributed them respectfully to share the joy and happiness.
During my childhood, it used to be just fun and joy, throughout the whole day. Now that we have grown up, we have different responsibilities and duties to make this Eid flawless. After doing all that, I was so so so tired that my whole body is in pain even today, hahaha. This is what happens when you don't do any physical work throughout the whole month and one day you end up working the whole day.
So yeah, Eid is gone for this year, celebrating both of them, we have to wait almost a year to get them again. May Allah bless us with health, wealth, and prosperity. Keep me in your prayers as well.
Have a great day,
Eid Mubarak!!
I also don’t like to visit the graveyard
I’d be damn scared and may find it hard to sleep
Hahaha, what about visiting at nights?
I had to go there at nights as well but never dared to go alone.
