Clean Day

Are you sitting on a PC? Or do you own one? If either one of them is true then I think you can/should relate to this writing of mine. Let's start with the most obvious question, how often do you clean your PC? Like proper cleaning.

"ᵂᵒʳᵈˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵖⁱᶜˢ ᵃʳᵉ ᵐⁱⁿᵉ, ᵘⁿˡᵉˢˢ ᴵ ˢʰᵒᵘᵗᵒᵘᵗ ʷʰᵉʳᵉ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᶜᵃᵐᵉ ᶠʳᵒᵐ!"

I have owned PCs since the sixth standard, more than a decade with these machines, they are love. Our house is next to a road, so the amount of dust has always been high. So the cleaning process needs to be regular in terms of their lifecycle and hygiene. So today was the day for cleaning purposes. Never underestimate the amount of dust stuck inside by inspecting the outer. Also, I don't know your cleaning methodology but I have gone through a deep cleaning today and also encountered a tense hour. Let's move ahead.

So for today's cleaning drill, I got a blower, yeah these are very helpful for cleaning such complex machines where you can easily reach to clean. A blower might be the best companion to go through that phase. But there is something to keep in mind, will tell them later while listing all of them below. So after almost an hour of cleaning everything, when I powered on my PC it wasn't starting, the red light on the mobo indicates the issue with the CPU. My heart shook for a moment, opened the case and checked for any loose connection, related the same process almost three times but no luck. Well, this is not the first time so I thought of taking a break and try again later, lol.

Let me tell you a few important things to keep in mind whenever you go for cleaning. You might already know them still, so what's the harm in repeating them in case one of them you might have missed earlier?

If you are using a blower, don't go for powerful ones, just don't, pick a basic one. While using a blower, don't go too harsh, use it from a distance so that the air pressure is comfortable for the components. Also, hold the blades of the fans with your fingers otherwise they would be spinning on and on which might create problems later on. So as for the blower part, keep things low, enough to remove the dust rather than damage.

If you are unplugging cables/parts from the motherboard, be careful if you are new. Take pictures of things to know which goes where for later otherwise you would be in a dilemma.

Don't use any kind of water and never show muscle power over these components, pretty much common sense, lol.

Don't panic if anything goes sideways, nothing happens if you stay within limits and to your senses. So when my PC wasn't restarting, reinstalled the Rams and CMOS battery for the third time, and rechecked the cable connection, this time my PC booted successfully. So never panic, take a break, and repeat the inspection stage with calm hands, things will come alive.

The habit of keeping them clean is part of best practices. Especially for a person like me who has a dust allergy is a must to keep my surroundings clean. Take this one as a reminder, check your schedule, and fix a time for this.

Have a great day,
Peace!

No computer here but even without a dirt road nearby computers, monitors, tv sets, video and DVD recorders/players always attract dust! Happy cleaning.

Yeah, they might not damage directly but in the long run, their impact is huge.
Thank you for stopping by.

I’ve never gotten a blower for my PC and I think that’s not good enough
I think I should give it a try so I can clean my system
Thank you for sharing

Yeah, get one and try for once.
Don't get too harsh with that, stay careful as I mentioned before.
