Vanilla Latte to start the New Year
Happy New Year
Last week I got a chance to give away 10,000 @esteem points on the post Last Week of the Year. I feel good about that. I said I would divide the 10,000 among the comments if they included a song title. There were exactly 10 comments that included song titles. The math was easy. I sent 1,000 points to each participant.
I could listen to some interesting music and I could also tell who reads my posts on Hive. I like Hive because there are real people interacting and no spam bots. If I post on another social media I get a few comments from real people, but then I am spammed by bots. I got so sick of the bots that I had to change my settings from public to private, now only my followers can see my posts.
Anyway, I'm grateful for the ten people who sent greetings on Hive last week and the evidence of the ten thousand points is in the picture below.
Esteem points were distributed to the comments of Last Week of the Year post.
Coffee Doesn't Make the Doctor Go Away
As soon as I got a chance to take a break, I got sick and had to visit the doctor, but when I got there he was at lunch. During his lunch break I stopped by a cafe called 바오비 Ba-Oh-Bing. They are famous for ice bingsu desserts, but I just had a vanilla latte. Sometimes I like a little aroma in life.
Other people waited for the doctor to open in the hallway. I went a block away in a sunny cafe. It's still a little cold outside, but warm in the cafe. I enjoyed the sunshine and played a little duolingo. I'm trying to study Italian and Hindi, but my high scores are on Spanish and Korean.
It's a fun way to waste time and practice a little foreign language skills. When the coffee was gone and the level was passed it was time to visit the doctor. I asked for some medicine for malaria prevention. He gave me some, but later when i read the side effects it looks like I have to return it. There are just too many side effects. I think I will just put on some mosquito repellent when I visit southern India.
Snow
It did snow the last week of 2023, but I haven't seen any snow yet in 2023. I don't mind although the kids in our English camp would like some snow.
I don't think 2024 will have less difficulties than 2023, but I think we have the opportunity to handle 2024 with more wisdom. A lot of my energy goes to helping the boys learn to help themselves in preparing for college. I think the number one thing they can do is journal and number two is to learn to help themselves from everything to remembering their passwords to getting themselves a glass of water in the middle of the night.
I don't know what community this should be in. It is written in Korea and includes Korean words. But I think the central theme is coffee and life so I'm including it in Cinnamon Cup Coffe
