Reflecting on Evolutionary Changes within the last Twenty years In My Community

Growing up in a developing country like Nigeria has taught me a lot of lessons through experience and Community. Everyone works for their personal family development and growth except if chosen by the community to represent either in governance or leadership. Thanks to inleo engagement I will be able to reflect on my community growth for the past years of my early days.

While is was sitting thinking and reflecting on my Community and country's growth and development, I had a lot of thoughts coming through my mind both positive and negative impacts of changes and how we the individuals in the community have benefited and merited from these changes. Although there are some places in Nigeria that are still backward to modernization, but that of my community I k ow better.

My Community have changed in so many positive aspect within the last twenty years. Thanks to the government and the corporation of the people around. Although while I was reflecting on everything I realized there were a lot of challenges we faced then, but just like my dad always says “Growth comes with a price to Pay”.

The Changes within the last 20 years are in so many form and explanations which I will be categorically listing and explaining them below in relation to my experience.

• Growth in Transportation; This past years have made me know that transportation creativity has no limitations. During the early years I remember my dad used a Peugeot car then and along side he used a space bus gradually upgrading. In relation to my community, there have been introduction of new longer bus that can occupy a larger number of passenger than the previous one. Transportation is also made easy that we use card presently unlike the early days where we use money or other means. This last twenty years on transportation my surrounding have really improved on this aspect.

• Hotel; My Community transformed fully the day this hotel was built. This is a Fuve star hotel, whereby people from different region and country come to spend weekend, holidays, honeymoon and a lot more. Although I have never been inside this hotel because of my financial capabilities, but I hope to spend a holiday in it sometime soon. During the early years, hotels built were not standard in my community. I remember spending a night at one hotel and the manner of approach, the room, the bed, everything a bout the hotel was not pleasing unlike this present one.

• Buildings; During my reflection of my early years, I noticed the building in my community was not that much standard those time before modernization. Most housed then, where bungalow and just a story building. The rich in my community then just built a story building or two story building. But presently there is no limit to how high a building can be built.

• Hospitals; There have been an serious improvement in this domain. In the early days, there is not enough equipment or bed in hospitals in my Community. Most women in labor or about to give to give bird in Foam or on the Rug (floor carpet) depending on how financial stable a person is. But in this present days, we go to hospital to appointment, there is enough bed and there is enough equipment for everyone in need of them.

• Business; In the early days there was limited company for people to work, so they go to hawking or trading or farming, but not modernization have occurred and different type of creative business ideas and company to help improve the community now exist.

• Education; Education in the early days was not really valued. My Dad told me then in those days 15 years ago, they beg people to enter some university because of low turn out from student. Education of then is not as advanced as of now. Presently everyone wants to get very educated. I love education because in this my generation education is the key to unlocking so many vital opportunity doors.

In conclusion My Community have developed within this last twenty years. Although there are some challenges we face in the community but our growth and development is far more better than the previous years.
