Losing It All in Seconds: The Psychological Toll of Natural Disasters

Recently, I watched the russian news about an earthquake and flooding in the city. Last year, it was Brazil, and from my observations so far, natural Disasters cannot be controlled. Instead, we can carry out some preventive measures to prepare ourselves for them.

One of the video broke my heart and made me cry brcause i saw a man pointing to his house and the water had demolished the house, a building that took months or even years to build not even with a singke hand but with multiple hands because its a two storey building, it collapsed becauss the building couldn't withstand the weight of the flood and also the stress the flood was putting the building through. I don't pray for this experience in my country because so many people will cry, families take years to save up and build just a building, now imagine it collapses due to natural Disasters, this will be really sad for a lot of families.

So far, I will say I am inexperienced about natural disasters, but one thing is certain, which is that it cannot be stopped, but it can be prevented and prepared for in advance. I watched a video of India's richest man building. According to the video, they said his building can withstand an earthquake. Imagine tools like this are easily accessible to build a house, so we can withstand earthquake damage, but I think this is only accessible to the rich people and not the average poor people. This is why I keep on working hard to make my family proud, because the future is really tough ahead.

Natural Disasters are one of the worst things that can ever happen to a country, because so many properties and lives can be taken within seconds if care is not taken or precautionary measures are not taken. The most common type of natural Disasters in my area is flooding, and this is mostly because of blocked or small drainage, so when there is heavy rainfall, the water flow blocks and people tend to enter the dirty water to go to their workplace or do anything outside and this flooding is caused by heavy rainfall. This is why when there is heavy rainfall, there is always a problem in my state, but it's still something we all can manage and handle because we have done so many preventive measures to protect our lives and societies.

There is one phenomenal thing I love about us humans, which is the ability to endure, especially when there is a lot of vandalism of properties. We often still have that spirit that everything will work out fine, and people supporting each other is really a great achievement. This is one way we can help each other because natural Disasters can't be predicted; instead, we prepare for them.

We must learn to support each other in hard times like this; it takes years to build, but only takes a day to destroy it all. Supporting each other is the only way we can get better.
