Emotional Intelligence Builds Stronger Social Connection
Emotional Intelligence means the ability to understand your emotions and others around you. This is one of the major traits I lack most, which took me too long to understand. Emotional intelligence does not just characterise relationships that are between a man and a woman in love, it is also important in social networking, which involves building connections between people and understanding how they feel and react to things around them.
Since the day I started to study people more emotionally, I began to understand a lot of things about relationships and how they express themselves in little things around. I feel emotional relationships should not just be centred on describing how a man feels towards a woman, but also about friendship and connection. I have friends whose connection is far stronger than the friends I met 5 years ago, and we still speak. This is all about understanding your friends and their weaknesses and friendship.
Emotional intelligence gives us a lot of advantage in life, we get to study and observe the kind of people around us and know if we can really relate to these people or if they can be friends. I believe a person who is not emotionally intelligent will have a lot of weaknesses around, because they can easily react to little things and around and will even have trust issues, not just in relationships or friendship, and their ability to trust others is one of the most important traits.
Although emotional intelligence is not a soft skill, it is very important in life. I can boldly say developing your emotional intelligence is one of the best investments we can make for ourselves and for self-growth, because I believe emotional intelligence is he glue that holds people together,. After all, it helps to understand what triggers people's moods and helps us to respond to them in the right way.
Personally, I believe when you begin to show understanding and patience, people begin to feel safe around you, and this helps trust and connections bond to grow better. Now, I often sit down to reflect on people's feelings around me and also how to respond to them. Each time I wake up, I often spend 10-20 minutes reflecting on everything, both past, present and future plans, because I know everything is a step at a time, which is a gradual process.
Presently, I enjoy staying calm and studying people around me to understand them and not cause any trouble ahead. I am more of a listener now, and friends enjoy talking to me about what bothers their minds and converse about opinions about everything I feel might be right or wrong.
Emotional intelligence is really underrated, which we are meant to look up to as a soft skill needed in life. I believe an emotionally intelligent person has so many opportunities to connect with people and friends around. I look forward to building myself on emotional intelligence to be mindful of how to approach people in a certain way or situation and also recognise emotions and my Triggers.

Very well said. Of course, emotional intelligence gives us many advantages in life. Because of emotional intelligence, we can study and observe the people around us and know whether we can really relate to these people or whether they can be friends. In fact, these things are very important.
Its really important and people must begin to see to it.
Well said. Having emotional intelligence is really understated and it’s time we all give ourselves to improving in that regard.
