Trophies of Marius π»πΏπ : The ruins of a Domitian era fountain in Rome, Italy. | Built by the emperor in 226 AD.

Hello everyone, today I would like to greet everyone with another tourist attraction in Rome, Italy. This place is another interesting historical place. Even though Rome has many interesting places, and what I will take everyone to visit is the Trophies of Marius, located in the beautiful Piazz Vittorio Emanuele II, next to the entrance to the lost Villa Palombra. There are the remains of the Nymphaeum of Alexander Severus, which stands majestically. It is a brick structure built by the emperor in 226 AD.
This building is the only one left out of 15 Roman Nymphaeums. It was originally located at the intersection of Labicana and Tibetana streets on the highest point of Esquiline Hill. This building is a beautiful fountain. It receives water from a water pipe that branches off from a unique water pipe. It functions as a castle to supply water to the lower part of the city. Since the Middle Ages, it has been known as the Trophies of Marius because two marble trophies were mistakenly identified as coming from the victory of Caius Marius. It is a decorative sculpture of the monument. Until Pope Saxtus V moved it to the Cordonata as a staircase to the Piazzadel Campidoglio in 89 AD.
The fountain is designed in three beautiful levels, with exit chambers that are still visible. The fountain is filled with water features, drains, statues and sculptures covered in marble slabs. There are three levels in front of the fountain with a large drain in the center, which is adjacent to two open arches.
The surrounding area is a beautiful park with trees and flowers. It is a peaceful place where people often read books or do activities with friends. There are places to relax and the atmosphere is quite nice. I like this place because it feels peaceful.
We didn't spend much time here, just walking around. The highlight is probably the ruins of the Trophies of Marius, which are the highlight of this place. Although it may not seem like much, it is still one of the historical places in Rome.
Even when you first walk in There is still no information about this place. Just seeing the old building that stands out, I think that it must have some importance or interesting story. Plus the surrounding atmosphere that looks shady, makes me like it even more.
And this is the atmosphere and story of the Trophies of Marius in Rome, Italy, another place that I am impressed by and I hope everyone likes my photos and posts. Thank you for following. Have a nice day.
